Getting Ready at the Detroit Foundation Hotel

The wedding day began at the historic Detroit Foundation Hotel. This venue perfectly embodies the city’s architectural grandeur and contemporary spirit. Natalie wore an Ines Di Santo dress for the majority of the day and ceremony. Additionally, Natalie had a short custom reception dress for later in the evening.

The first look and private vow exchange at the Foundation Hotel was incredibly intimate. These moments were captured away from the bustling wedding day activities. They allowed the couple to share their most genuine emotions and connect intimately. In this private setting, Natalie and Chase found a peaceful pause amidst the day’s excitement.

Following their first look, we headed to the iconic Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) for portraits. The bridal party attire looked beautiful against the museum’s white marble façade. The DIA’s exterior, with its classical design and architectural details, offered the perfect setting.

Reception Details

The reception details were some of my favorite! Natalie collaborated with Alyssa Amez Design to create a collection of wedding paper goods and signage that elevated the overall aesthetic. The design suite included a ceremony welcome sign, seating chart, personalized menus for each guest, a bar sign, and custom match boxes. The wedding’s design palette featured a sophisticated blend of dusty blue tones and gray accents, complemented by delicate floral patterns. These carefully chosen elements transformed the traditional neutral color scheme with their sophisticated design approach. The result was a modern, artistic elegance that brought nuanced visual depth to the couple’s stationery and signage.

After dinner, the couple curated an incredible dessert bar that celebrated Detroit’s favorite desserts. Guests indulged in a delectable spread featuring Michigan-inspired treats: Mackinac Island fudge, sweet and salty candied pretzels, Krispie s’mores, chocolate-covered potato chips, and an array of artisan chocolates. This carefully crafted dessert selection was a delicious tribute to the city’s unique culinary creativity.

Custom hats were provided for guests, transforming the dance floor into an extra fun experience and a piece of memorabilia to take home.

Towards the end of the night, Natalie changed into her reception dress. Without doubt, Natalie rocked this short custom dress!
