East Michigan Wedding | Kim + Xavier

Weddings

I had such an amazing time photographing Kim and Xavier’s East Michigan wedding! They are just the sweetest people and also have the sweetest love story. They met in high school in their tenth grade english class. At the time, their best friends were dating and introduced Kim to Xavier. As time went on and their love grew stronger, Xavier planned the proposal in Galveston, Texas. This location was special to them because it was the very first vacation spot they had together after graduating college. Early in the morning, Kim and Xavier being the only ones walking the beach, Xavier got down on one knee and asked Kim to marry him. We took their engagement photos at the Bay City State Park beach, which I just love how that ties the whole story together!

One of the most memorable aspects from their wedding was having Xavier’s 94 year old grandmother present at the wedding. Kim said, “It was very important to to her, and to us, that she be there to witness one of her grandchildren get married in the church. She even had decorated her walker for the occasion and had a blast while dancing cumbias at the reception! A truly memorable moment we will cherish for a lifetime.

We took their bridal portraits at the Marshall M Fredericks Sculpture Museum, which provided such a cool and unique backdrop for photos. These two could easily grace the cover of any magazine. Kim and Xavier, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so grateful to have spent this time with you and I wish you a full life of love and happiness!

I had actually worked at a bridal shop as a stylist for 6 years prior to getting engaged! So, I had plenty of time to daydream about the details! My co-workers and I were ALWAYS discussing how we would plan the big day. I bought the very first wedding dress I tried on!” -Kim
