Priya and Matthew’s wedding at Laurel Manor was so lovely. I had the honor of photographing our mutual friend’s wedding, Adrea and Joe, a couple years prior in which Priya and Matthew both attended. I remembered Priya’s name when her inquiry popped up in my inbox a couple years later saying it was her turn to get married!
Priya and Matthew’s love story began on a dating app! When they initially started talking on the dating website, they lived over an hour away from each other. Initially Priya declined the offer to meet Matt because she thought the distance would be a problem. Priya later decided to take a chance, met Matthew halfway to grab a drink and they have been inseparable ever since.
After a beautiful ceremony and taking photos at the Detroit Institute of Arts and Wayne State University, we headed over to Laurel Manor for the reception! During the reception, a video was played during the father/daughter dance that incorporated pictures of Priya’s dad and home videos during her childhood. It was a way for Priya to thank her dad for always being there for her and show how much she appreciates everything he and her mom have done for her. Additionally, another video of Matt and Priya’s love story played, which incorporated videos of his proposal and videos of them breaking their engagement news to family members. It was really special for them to show everyone their love story and how deep their love truly is.
Another little fun fact… Priya has always been a fan of Superman her entire life and it is a coincidence that her new husband’s last name is Clark! The Clark’s incorporated Superman throughout the wedding, from Matthew wearing a Superman shirt under his suit to also having a Superman wedding cake topper. How cute is that?!
