This Venue3Two wedding editorial came to life as the warm embrace of late summer merges seamlessly with the crisp promise of early fall. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Grand Rapids, I had the pleasure of photographing a stunning editorial that perfectly encapsulated the transitional beauty of this season. With a color palette adorned with shades of pink, red, and white flowers, this editorial was a harmonious blend of romance, elegance, and natural allure.
About Venue3Two
Venue3Two was built in 1925 by the McFarlanes. The 700 acre ranch and mansion was later purchased by Leslie Tassell to operate his tool and dye plant on. Over the years, he developed the land, moved his family into the mansion and raised horses, buffalo and other exotic animals on the property. Eventually Mr. Tassel and his family moved and the mansion had been vacant for 15 years. In 2016, Dwight and Karen Strayer discovered the property and renovated it for EAD (Equine Assisted Development) where horses are used to help people in difficult life situations. They created a profit-for-non-profit organization called 3TwoRanch.
The Strayers also wanted the mansion to be a place to give back to the community and celebrate life, so they turned it into a Grand Rapids wedding venue. With all the renovations, it is now the beautiful mansion you see today.
The venue’s interior boasts ample natural light that shines through large windows. The spacious reception area seamlessly connects to the outdoors, allowing for a harmonious transition between indoor and outdoor celebrations. For brides who appreciate attention to detail, the carefully curated aesthetics of the venue make decorating a breeze. From intimate gatherings to grand soirées, Venue3Two embraces each event with open arms, ensuring that every couple’s vision is brought to life.
I had so much fun photographing the Astoria wedding gown by Eva Lendel! “Astoria is a tender wedding gown with A-line silhouette. The strapless corsage with heart-shaped neckline is embellished with 3D floral lace and small beads. The waistline features the same lace and small bow. The lowered sleeves combine transparent lace and weightless tulle. The loose veiling skirt has a long train.”
